Psalm 118:5-6
Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
Long ago, I would have previously answered that last part of the verse differently that I do today. I would say that based on my decisions, man, or rather any person around me, can do a lot! People can judge me, criticize me, laugh at my efforts. But now I know – all decisions I make are my own choosing. And if I choose to do what is right and good, my life will continue towards righteousness and goodness.
My friends, this week I'm making the decision to breathe for a moment.
Trying to squeeze in a post for today would be rushed, and I wouldn't feel like I'm giving my best.
For now, I'm resting. New floors in a house we've lived in for 10 weeks, both of our moms visiting, and being out of town 5 out of the 6 last weekends has left us exhausted.
So please excuse me while I rest for this week. I hope you are making decisions for your life that also lead you to what is right and good.
Be well.
Also – let's take a moment to remember this day, to pray for the lost and loved ones, and to remember the beautiful community we built as Americans after such destruction to our lives.
